For Your Well-Being: Advice from Massage Concept Paris

Sitting well at your computer?
Thousands of hours in front of a computer lead to poor posture, which puts strain on the spine, shoulders, hips and knees. Stiffness, discomfort in the back and joints, tight muscles: sound familiar?
Sound familiar?
The neck...

So before you come to Massage Concept Paris for a Swedish Massage to deeply relax your muscles, here are 3 tips to counter this ailment of our digital world.
First of all, your head is under constant strain, which stiffens the muscles in your neck. To loosen everything up, move only your head: let your chin drop down towards your breastbone while stretching the back of your neck. Hold for 5 seconds and repeat this movement at least once an hour.
The shoulders...

For the shoulders, the problem is the unconscious switching between a rounded and a raised posture, which gradually weakens the middle and lower parts of your trapezius (the large muscle spanning your shoulders and back), as well as the muscle beneath your chest (running from your ribs to your shoulder blades).
▪ It is therefore important to lie face down on the floor, with each arm raised at a 90-degree angle.
▪ Without changing the angle of your elbows, lift both arms, drawing your shoulders back and squeezing your shoulder blades together.
▪ Next, sit up straight on a chair, hands beside your hips, palms down on the seat, arms straight.
▪ Without moving your arms, press down on the chair until your hips lift off the seat and your torso rises.
Hold these positions for five seconds; do two or three sets of 12 repetitions a day.
The lower back...

As for the well-known anterior pelvic tilt which compresses the hip flexors...
▪ Kneel on your left knee, with your right foot on the floor in front of you, knee bent.
▪ Press forward until you feel the stretch in your left hip.
▪ Firmly squeeze the buttock muscles on your left side until you feel the front of your hip stretching comfortably.
▪ Reach up with your left arm and stretch towards your right side.
Hold this position for at least 30 seconds and do it three times on each side.
There you go: by following these 3 simple tips, you will regain a correct and comfortable posture in front of your beloved computer!
